Dog smells breast cancer!

Maureen Burns’ hero is her red collie cross dog called Max. The Mirror reported (23/02/09) the amazing story of how Max detected Maureen’s illness - and his persistence prompted her to have a health check. It was a hounding that quite simply saved her life! Woof!

The 64-year-old realised something was wrong when Max started acting strangely. Max changed from being a lively, clever canine, to being very withdrawn. More notably, he also repeatedly sniffed Maureen’s breath and nudged her right breast.

The odd behaviour of her beloved pooch prompted Maureen to check her breasts and she discovered a small lump in the right one. (The growth did not show up on a hospital mammogram.)

Snakehead Fish, The World’s Most Evil Fish Invades Britain

Snakehead fish, a carnivorous fish tagged as the world’s most evil fish because it eats almost everything in it's path, is now is Britain. It was originally can be found only in Southeast Asia.


News that a 2ft specimen had been hooked in an English river caused widespread panic among anglers and conservationists. An Environment Agency source said last night: "The reaction was, ‘Oh s***’. This is the ultimate invasive species — if it starts breeding here it’s a disaster." Angler Andy Alder caught the snakehead while using a sprat as bait for pike on the River Witham near North Hykeham, Lincs. Andy, of Lincoln, said: "It had a gob full of razor-sharp teeth. To be honest it looked terrifying."

Most Expensive Tea Bag in the World

PG Tips celebrated its 75th birthday by commissioning Boodles jewellers to make the world's most expensive tea bag. The tea bag was made with 280 diamonds and took three months to put together. Total cost: $12,900! The tea bag was donated to a charity auction for Manchester Childrens' Hospital in England.

Largest Cigarette in the World

The world's largest cigarette stands in the middle London's Trafalgar Square, with 9 meters high. In the past, because of the enactment of the ban on smoking in indoor public places laws and regulations, caused the London street is full of discarded cigarette butts.

The role of this large cigarette is to draw attention to environmental health by refraining from discarding cigarette butts.
