Fugu or Pufferfish, World's Most Dangerous Food

With poison 1000 times lethal than cyanide, Fugu or the pufferfish is the world's most dangerous food. Fugu is included in more than 80 Japanese menus and one of Japan's most sought after dish. It is serve in the country's most expensive restaurants usually in traditional Japanese setting.

The Fugu's poison is called tetrodotoxin and is located in the internal organs, especially the liver and ovaries, and also the skin. If prepared incorrectly, a meal of Fugu will result in 100% death if not treated accordingly. For this reason, only licensed chef is allowed to prepare it in Japanese restaurants.

The poison acts by paralyzing nerves making the victim unable to move or breath. They are fully conscious until their lungs fail and eventually the victim will die. The only way to treat a victim is to use respirator until the toxin subsides.

poison gila. but i ate it. once it's prepared by certified chef, it's really nothing. the meat is a little course compared to sashimi. nevertheless, a once in a lifetime foodie experience.
